Need for Product
Pretend play is beneficial to a child's development: it refines motor skills, teaches how to follow directions and make decisions, and encourages social interaction. This pizza playset encourages such development using the packaging as 3-in-1 prep station, oven, and serving table. No kitchen play set is needed, making this an apartment friendly toy, space-saving option for tiny playrooms, and easy to pack up and take along for travel. This particular feature really sets this product apart from other offerings and also makes it affordable for parents.

Product Components
This wooden pizza playset includes multiple toppings illustrated specifically for the material it was printed on: felt. The crust is MDF with paint and a print. The sides of each quarter are recessed into the material so that the Velcro can stick together easily. The box is a 3-in-1 prep area, which is easy to use and understand. By turning or flipping the box, one comes across a new area for pretend play. This product also includes a menu for some delicious ideas to get one started.

Type & Packaging Execution

With direction provided by the creative director with some tweaks, the artwork settled on a realistic, bistro look with the chalkboard approach to soften the photo realism and make it more appealing to a child. After researching bistros and menus for type inspiration, the end result became what is shown with a nice chalk and flour treatment to bring everything together. To keep the box from being damaged a packaging sleeve was included and also included all the other information about the product including the functionality.This allows for the box to be used as only part of play.
