In a sea of Halloween brands there tends to be the same themes that crop up everywhere. Slasher villains, adult humor, witches & warlocks, classic monsters, those really revealing costumes that don’t make sense as to why they reveal in the first place. Not all of Halloween has to be blood and guts, sex appeal, or fart jokes, right? RIGHT? Imagine a holiday where one can have just as much fun, look just as good, and save most of that costume budget for what really matters to them. Hauntlook offers simple and stylish costumes that fit practically everyone because Halloween is for everyone - regardless of size or self identity.

Hauntlook does two things extremely well with their costumes; A majority are one-size unisex, and almost every costume can pair with another to create a theme. These two aspects of the brand bring flexibility to the forefront when planning a party. Create a breakfast club with bacon, egg, toast, and pancake, or pick a few candy bars up to go to the lobby. The costumes are affordable, which means one can spend the savings on what really matters the most.

Costume Construction, Illustration, & Pattern Execution
When first introduced to the lack of process to execute these costumes, it was decided to create one. Originally, the files were sent from the manufacturer as poor construction files, which had no measurements and pattern pieces to lay artwork onto. This made custom costumes very difficult to design and as more costumes needed to be customized, the process of creating a construction and separate pattern file was created. The construction file shows the front, side, and back views of the costume on a figure as well as includes special notes, colors, and fabrics. The pattern file is where one lays out all the artwork onto flat pieces so that when all these pieces sewn together create the costume. In these pattern files all artwork is to size and proportion to make it easier for the manufacturer to reproduce. Once sampling is approved everything moves into mass production. This process was created to make things run smoother and has been the process since.

Along with creating and figuring out construction and pattern files for these costumes has been illustration. The vector and goofiness of this illustration style was also put in place to differentiate it from other Halloween costume offerings. It helps to keep the costumes cohesive and allows for one to be paired with another seamlessly. This costume line has grown since working at Brybelly and has been one of the most successful product lines bringing in revenue.
