Need for Product
These playing cards feature a full-size deck which includes hand-painted portraits of fully-grown doggos! The miniature deck has illustrations of puppies for added cuteness which also correlate with each of the doggos providing an example of one puppy and one full adult as examples for that breed. All court cards include illustrations of dog show winners! Hand-painted & highly detailed by the illustrator, these cards will catch the dog lovers' eyes and also make a great gift for anyone. The art of these dogs & puppies works as a perfect option for card gaming with friends and family, even if there's a cat person in the game. These cards can be used with any game that requires standard playing cards! Even the miniature card deck will work.
Card Layouts
With illustrations of dog toys, bones, and accessories provided; creating the back of the cards took collage work to make everything feel balanced and yet active to the eye. Including the neutral, beige background, really helped to make the colors on each of the illustrations pop. This idea for the color was used throughout to help tie everything together into one cohesive packaging set which also includes a "Doggie Deets" facts accordion folded insert using icons to represent which breed belongs to which suit as well as the annual dog show winners.
Identity & Packaging Execution
Noticing the beauty of the watercolor illustrations provided and to tie the tuck boxes to the packaging, it was decided to increase the size of some of the fur swatches from the illustrations and then create a collar to go around each one, which contained the title of the product. Together the tuck boxes and packaging look like close ups of three different dogs each wearing a similar yet different collar. This really differentiates and captures the essence of the illustrations without overpowering each one.
